MILLS
Visit a wide variety of early watermills and windmills used for pressing
walnut oil, grinding flour and making paper. In the late 19th century, an insect infestation decimated grape crops. Farmers, in need of an alternative source of income, developed dairy farms. Many watermills, like Fontbouillant itself, were converted to spin cream into butter and cheese.
