BORDEAUX
Bordeaux has always been associated with the exceptional quality of its wines. And its city is also a treasure. Beautiful pedestrian walkways and squares set the scene. Be sure to visit the Saint-AndrČ Cathedral, the Saint-Seurin Basilica and the Saint-Michel Basilica (pictured left), all of which have been named World Heritage Sites.

LES EYZIES
Visited by nearly a million people a year, Les Eyzies one of the most popular destinations in France. In this village, cave paintings of Fond de Gaume and a Cromagnon man were discovered. Visit the National Prehistory Museum which houses one of the world's most complete collections of prehistoric artifacts. This is one of the last remaining prehistoric cave-painting sites worldwide still open to the public.

MONOLITHIC CHURCH
In Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, you will find the monolithic Church of Saint-Jean of Aubeterre. Monolithic comes from the ancient Greek words meaning "from a single stone." The first Christians carved this magnificent church from rock, representing 800 years of constant work. It is the largest church built entirely into rock in the whole of Europe. After your tour, walk through the quiet streets and alleys of Aubeterre, which will enchant you with its antique and craft shops, bars and bistros.

CAVERNS
The famous "Les Grottes de Lacave" are stunning examples of nature's beauty. Travel through the incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations, which take on yellow and red colors based on the presence of natural elements. In one cave, black lighting makes the formations become phosphorescent.

BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES OF THE DORDOGNE
Beynac
In the heart of the Dordogne, Beynac is the most famous of the thousands of castles that populate the area. Situated high on a hill, small circuitious lanes take you toward the top for the most magnificent views. Another one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, Beynac should not be missed.

Sarlat
Sarlat is in Pèrigord Noir, and is one of the premier medieval sites. Beautifully preserved, it has incredible examples of more than 1000 years of architecture. The mansions, market squares, chapels, small lanes, roofs, stone walls, and public gardens are just some of the attractions.
